Driftwood, the Americana band from Upstate New York, has announced the release of their upcoming album “December Last Call” on March 22.

The new album will reflect on the band’s 15-year career and showcase their evolution as musicians and close friends. The band’s latest single, “Every Which Way But Loose,” has already gained recognition from Magnet Magazine for its catchy and uncomplicated nature.

The band’s guitarist and vocalist, Dan Forsyth, revealed that the song was inspired by Eric Clapton’s “Slowhand,” he wanted to capture a similar feeling to one of the songs on that album. “Every Which Way But Loose” was recorded quickly and easily, and the band’s fun while making it stuck to the tape.

The album was self-produced and recorded in the basement studio of guitarist Joe Kollar’s family home, where the band grew up making music together.

“December Last Call” is an intimate and reflective snapshot of the group over the last 15 years, documenting everything from childhood memories to navigating parenthood. The album features various sounds, from anthemic guitar-laden rock tracks to stripped-down ballads.

The new album marks Driftwood’s first release since their 2019 album “Tree of Shade,” which received widespread acclaim from No Depression, PopMatters, and other critics.

The band will embark on a series of dates in New York, Boston, Washington, D.C., and other cities throughout the spring, starting in February. For more information about the tour, check out driftwoodtheband.com/tour.

Driftwood comprises Dan Forsyth (guitar/vocals), Joe Kollar (guitar/vocals), Claire Byrne (violin/vocals), Joey Arcuri (bass/vocals), and Sam Fishman (drums). With their upcoming album, Driftwood is set to continue their legacy as a talented and versatile band that produces timeless and enjoyable music.
